When the weather forecast predicts a hot day with high humidity, finding clothing to wear when you aren’t at the pool or near a body of water is difficult. It’s really hard to decide what to wear to work in the summer under those same uncomfortable conditions. However, you don’t have to sacrifice style or comfort this summer with our list of fashionable and functional office summerwear from fashion experts.

Unfortunately, dress codes aren’t as permissive as you may believe. (At least in most workplaces.) So, what do you wear when the code of conduct asks for modest apparel but the weather is hot and unpleasant outside? Ideally, it should be comfortable and breathable, but also have a sense of class and polish to it rather than looking too casual.

A light-colored button-down shirt:

A light-colored button-down shirt is a great way to stay cool and look put together at the same time. If you choose a white or light blue shirt, you can pair it with khaki shorts or a skirt and still look appropriate for work. A sleeveless dress:

This is also a great way to transition your outfit from day to night if you have after-work plans. Just make sure that you choose a blazer made of light fabric so that you don’t get too hot.
